Aluminium is the material we reach for whenever a fence has to keep a view, follow a slope, or sit within a few miles of salt water. It does not rust — not the way steel does, not at the cut ends, not after ten years of Intracoastal air — and a powder coat carries a manufacturer warranty against chipping and fading.

It is also the practical answer to Florida's pool barrier requirements. A four-foot flat-top run with pickets close enough that a four-inch sphere will not pass, no horizontal rails on the outside face for a child to climb, and a self-closing gate with the latch release at fifty-four inches is precisely what the statute asks for, and aluminium delivers it without walling in the yard.

The slope behaviour matters more than people expect. Aluminium panels rack — the pickets pivot in the rail so the panel follows the ground instead of stepping down it in blocks. On Mandarin and San Marco lots that fall toward the water, that is the difference between a fence that looks made for the property and one that looks bolted onto it.

What is in the price

Extruded aluminium, powder-coated

Not roll-formed steel with a paint finish. Warranted against chip, fade and corrosion.

Rackable panels

Follows a slope smoothly rather than stepping it, with no gap under the run for a pet to get through.

Pool-code configuration

Four-foot minimum, pickets under the four-inch gap rule, no external climbing aids, gate to statute.

Self-closing, self-latching gates

Magnetic latch set at the fifty-four inch release height, gate swinging away from the water.

Stainless fasteners throughout

Standard on every job, coastal or not — an aluminium fence with rusting screws defeats the point.

Core-drilled installation available

Where the run crosses an existing pool deck or paver surface, posts are core-drilled and grouted rather than cut in.

How it runs

01

Measure and code check

We walk the barrier line and tell you what the statute requires before we quote it, not after the inspector does.

02

Permit submittal

Duval permit filed with the site plan. Pool barrier work is inspected, so it is filed properly.

03

Set and rack

Posts set to the string line and panels racked to the actual grade as we go.

04

Gate hardware and inspection

Self-closer tensioned, latch height verified with a tape, and we meet the inspector on site.

Questions we get on this one

Will aluminium meet my pool inspection?

The material will; the installation is what gets inspected. Height, picket gap, the absence of external footholds and the gate hardware are all checked, and the gate is where most failures happen. We build to the statute and we stand at the inspection with you.

Black or bronze?

Black is the default and disappears against planting from about twenty feet. Bronze reads warmer against brick and stucco. Both carry the same coating warranty; it is purely an aesthetic call and we will leave samples.

Is it strong enough to keep a large dog in?

Yes, in the right grade. Residential-grade is fine for most dogs; for a determined large breed we specify a heavier picket and closer spacing, and we can add a puppy panel at the bottom so nothing squeezes under.
